They Talk Deficits Instead Of Jobs -- It's Corruption

Washington is back to talking about deficits and not about jobs. Didn’t we just have an election? Didn't we vote to tax the wealthy, provide public services and benefits and provide people with jobs? Isn't the deficit down 50% from where Bush left it? So why are even...

Sequestering Hope: Washington's Mad Hatter Budget Debate

To force unpopular and wrong-headed cuts in Social Security and Medicare, the Republican House caucus used their retreat to line up new rounds of fiscal hostage-taking. First up on March 1 is the sequester – deep, indiscriminate and immediate cuts of about 8 percent of military spending and 5 percent of domestic services in the remaining seven months of the fiscal year. Then comes the threat to shut down the government with the expiration of the continuing budget resolution and then another threat to default on the nation’s obligations with a debt ceiling crisis beginning in mid-May.

Reporters: Ask About The TRADE Deficit

Government spending is We, the People doing things to make our lives better. Trade deficits are caused by billionaires and their giant corporations pitting America's working people against exploited people who have no say, so they can drive down our wages and pocket the difference. Have you noticed that the people who are making the most noise about the budget deficit tend to be the same crowd that's benefiting from the ruinous trade deficit?

Budget vs trade deficit... You can learn a lot about how our country's media and policy apparatus works by taking a good look at the way the two are handled. One -- pushed by the billionaires and their giant corporations -- gets all the attention. The other -- the cause of the destruction of our middle class -- gets none.

Reporters and others: you should ask policymakers what they plan to do about the trade deficit -- that's the one that really is hurting the country.

Deficit Problem Solved - Why Are We STILL Talking Cuts Instead Of Jobs?

California’s deficits are gone, and Republicans are furious. The national deficit problem is largely solved, too, and Republicans just don't know what to do! Of course what we need to do is invest in modernizinge our infrastructure, which will put people back to work and we will end up with a ... wait for it ... modernized, energy-efficient infrastructure that will drive our economy into the 21st century.

We Need Jobs And Need Infrastructure Fixed. Connect The Dots -- And Fix The Filibuster

Our country has so many urgent needs and two of them are the need for jobs for millions of unemployed people, and the need to upgrade our aging, crumbling infrastructure. Our current policy -- enforced by GOP filibusters of bills to fix the country's infrastructure -- of not fixing our infrastructure to "save money" is starting to cost way more than it saves, and this can only get worse. Hey, I have an idea, why don't we hire unemployed people to fix up our needs-fixing infrastructure, and help get our economy moving again.

ANOTHER Report On Jobs Lost To China "Trade"

In DC the geniuses are busy with the billionaire agenda, fighting the things We, the People do to make our lives better. Meanwhile, in the real world yet another report is out that shows how one-sided trade deals with China and others are killing off our jobs and factories and industries and economy. And while DC's geniuses work themselves into a frenzy over the budget deficit -- money that we Americans mostly to each other -- they ignore the real problem: the trade deficit, and hundreds of billions of our dollars continue to bleed out of our country, year after year.
