Obama Keeps The Climate-Jobs Connection
As I discussed yesterday, David Leonhardt of the New York Times counseled President Obama to drop using green jobs as a selling point for address climate change. Thankfully, last night Obama did not listen. Obama made clear that tackling the climate crisis can be...
SOTU Challenge: When Talking Climate, Don't Forget The Green Jobs
Expectations are high for President Obama to get specific about his second-term plans to protect the climate, particularly regarding plans to bypass Congress and use the EPA's authority to further reduce greenhouse gas pollution. The appeal is obvious: no need to...
Stormy Weather: The Candidates And Climate Change
Climate change is certainly a contributing factor to both the frequency and intensity of these events. Most Americans believe extreme weather events are related to climate change, and science backs them up. In the aftermath of every extreme weather event, activists have raised their voices to demand action on climate change or denounce the lack thereof. Hurricane Sandy, aka Frankenstorm, is just the most recent. The difference is that Sandy arrived on the eve of a presidential election between two starkly different records on climate change and related environmental policies.
German Solar Companies Also Bring Trade Complaint Against China
American solar companies are not alone in their battle with Chinese trade cheating. The Obama administration recently imposed tariffs because Chinese "dumping" was hurting American companies (like Solyndra). German solar companies are also bringing trade complaints against China for pricing their products below cost to try to put companies in other countries out of business.
Obama's Environmental Record And The Conservative Response
According to the Washington Post, President Obama "skinned the cat" and used executive powers "to press the most sweeping attack on air pollution in U.S. history." Oil- and coal-backed conservatives can't stand it.

Will it be mentioned in the last presidential debate on Monday?
For the Unemployed, Romney's Debate Was Full of "Wind Jobs"
Mitt Romney's "binder full of women" comment has gone viral, which is pretty entertaining but has had the unfortunate side effect of crowding the phrase "wind jobs." That's a real loss, because that term could become a very useful part of our political vocabulary.
House Considers 'No More Competing With Oil Companies Act'
Republicans in the House have introduced a bill called the "No More Solyndras Act." It may as well be named the "No More Competing With Oil Companies Act" or the "Hand Our Economy To China Act."
The "No More Solyndras Act"
Why Conservative Attacks On Wind And Solar Energy?
There has been a recent flurry of propaganda attacks on wind and solar energy by oil-and-coal-backed conservatives. A vitally important tax credit to help build a renewable energy industry in this country expires at the end of this year without Congressional action, and the old oil and coal industries -- along with certain other countries -- want to make sure it does expire.
Romney's Energy Plan To Heat The Planet
Mitt Romney unveiled a one-page economic plan - Mitt Romney’s Plan For A Stronger Middle Class - includes an energy component that is strongly attached to the fading, dinosaur oil and coal industries. It should be called "Mitt Romney's Plan To Heat The Planet."
