Cap'n Mitt and the Pirates of Cracker Bay

Ever since humans first took to the sea, pirates have inexplicably vanished and reappeared along our coasts and waterways.  Who were those mysterious figures who appeared along the mist-shrouded docks and beaches of Tampa Bay during last week's Republican Convention?  While all eyes were on the Democrats, we decided to find out.

Parsing The Grand Bargain Promises

There are many fine passages in Obama's speech tonight, of course. I would expect nothing less. He's great at this stuff and I'm sure he fired up the base and brought over some undecideds too.

The Best Of The American Spirit?

Michelle Obama's speech last night got rave reviews. (If you didn't see it, you can watch it here.) It was a very well written and well-delivered speech, personal and yet political, subtly showing the differences between the Obama worldview and the Romney worldview.
