Daniel Kalik, the chief of staff at J Street, a progressive Jewish "pro-peace" organization, discusses which 2016 presidential candidate is best positioned to help Israel and the Palestinians reach a peace agreement.
J Street has taken the position that Israel's expansion of settlements in the West Bank is "not helpful," but has also said that the Palestinians must do more to move the peace process forward. "We're looking for both sides to exercise leadership, and for the U.S. to help bring them along as well," he said.
Using that lens, Kalik reviews the recent statements the Republican and Democratic candidates have made about what their policies toward Israel would be, including a little-noticed speech Bernie Sanders recently gave in Utah.
