From the Citizens Trade Campaign

Earlier this year, 130 members of Congress sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner urging him to designate China as a currency manipulator. This week, the Treasury Department once again refused.

Today, July 13th, call your Senators at 202-224-3121 and ask them to support legislation to rein in currency manipulators. Join the tens of thousands of trade activists, union members, manufacturers and citizen groups who will join this National Currency Call-In Day to ratchet up the pressure to hold currency manipulators accountable.

It is now more important than ever for Congress to pass strong legislation to stop the unfair and illegal advantage against U.S. producers that countries gain by undervaluing their currency. A bipartisan group of Senators is considering attaching S. 3134, the Currency Exchange Rate Oversight Reform Act of 2010, to legislation that may pass at anytime. Introduced by Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), the legislation would give our government the tools it needs to address currency manipulation.

To join in the day of action, call your Senators today at 202-224-3121 to tell them to support legislation to rein in currency manipulators.
