The one-sided idea war continues.

Last week, it was evident that while progressives were bursting with fresh ideas to get our deregulated derailed economy back on track, conservatives were running on fumes -- reflexively offering 80s right-wing favorites like more deregulation and capital gains tax cuts.

Today, Newt Gingrich -- who apparently was playing both sides of the fence on the bailout -- practically surrenders the idea war. Or at least, outsources it.

From The Crypt:

Newt Gingrich's idea for solving the bailout crisis? Set up a website for ideas. Gingrich, the former speaker of the House, asserted this among his solutions in a speech about the bailout today at the National Press Club.

Newt does at least recognize that people want change. The profound slogan on his website is: "Real Change Requires Real Change."

On that, Newt and I agree 100%.
