Given the threat of global climate change, the United States should not have a two-faced energy policy – encouraging green energy at home and encouraging fossil fuel exports abroad.

As a senator, Bernie Sanders sponsored legislation that would end all U.S. subsidies to fossil fuel companies, including export assistance. As a presidential candidate, Sanders is the only one to have signed a Greenpeace pledge to not accept campaign contributions from fossil fuel companies.
