If we let Congress pre-approve the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) with Fast Track we won't need Congress anymore. Corporations will decide what the rules should be.
This is for real. The next round of "NAFTA-style" trade agreements actually let corporate courts -- with corporate attorneys as the judges -- stop countries from passing laws that interfere with profits. Treaties like these already let tobacco companies sue countries to block government-sponsored anti-smoking campaigns. This is for real.
