The Campaign for America’s Future is a center for ideas and action that works to build an enduring majority for progressive change. It was founded in 1996 by more than 100 prominent leaders alarmed by the rightward drift of American politics and the forces undermining the widely shared prosperity that is the foundation of our democracy.
The Campaign advances a progressive economic agenda and a vision of the future that works for all, not simply the few. We are leading the fight for America’s kitchen-table priorities – good jobs, a sustainable economy and lifelong financial security.
We maximize the strength of the progressive movement by regularly convening organizers, activists and policy experts to help forge powerful coalitions. Our annual conferences have served as the premier Washington gathering of progressive leaders, attracting thousands to develop solutions, hone strategies and fortify the movement. Throughout the year, we organize regular meetings where congressional aides, union strategists, scholars, pollsters and advocates share insight on progressive messaging and public opinion so we can elevate the national debate. Finally, we are an incubator of national campaigns in which progressives join together to form policies that advance economic prosperity and opportunity for lower- and middle-income Americans.
Our team of writers disseminate progressive responses and policy prescriptions for a sustainable course forward, reaching millions through our own messaging platform as well as in traditional and new media.
We were instrumental in uniting labor and environmentalists around clean energy and green jobs, giving rise to the Apollo Alliance. We anchored the coalition that helped pass the largest college funding initiative since the GI Bill. We helped to convene the coalition that pushed for fundamental health care reform as well as the alliance that challenged conservative efforts to privatize Social Security.
Our goal is to forge the enduring progressive majority needed to realize the America of shared prosperity and equal opportunity that our country was meant to be.
