Sara Robinson

Sara Robinson is one of the few trained social futurists in North America, and will receive her MS in Futures Studies from the University of Houston in 2009. Her skill set includes trend analysis, scenario development, futures research, social change theories, systems thinking, and strategic planning. She holds a BA in Journalism from the USC Annenberg School of Communication, and has worked as a columnist or editor for several national magazines.
Sara has blogged on authoritarian and extremist movements at Orcinus since 2006. Her recent work has also appeared online at Firedoglake, DailyKos, OpenLeft, and Alternet; and in print at The Progressive Christian and Survival: The Journal of the International Institute of Strategic Studies. She is a consulting partner with the Cognitive Policy Works in Seattle; and a Fellow with both the Campaign for America's Future and the Commonweal Institute.
A native of California's High Sierra, Sara spent 20 years in Silicon Valley before moving to Vancouver, BC in 2004. She shares her life with her husband Evan, two teenagers, and a Norwegian Buhund who is her constant companion.
