THESE TERMS OF USE DESCRIBE YOUR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WHEN USING THE CAMPAIGN FOR AMERICA’S FUTURE WEBSITE.

1. Acceptance of Terms. Your use of the Campaign for America’s Future (“CAF”) website (“the site” or “this site”) is subject to your compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in this Terms of Use agreement ("Terms of Use"), which are supplemented by any additional guidelines or other terms posted by Campaign for America’s Future in relation to specific site-related services or content.
Campaign for America’s Future reserves the right to update or modify the Terms of Use without advance notice by posting a revised Terms of Use to this website. Website users ("you") can determine whether the Terms of Use has been modified since your last visit by checking the "Last updated" legend at the top of this page. By using the site, you agree to be bound by the version of the Terms of Use then in effect. Campaign for America’s Future may deny service to you at any time, including in the event you do not adhere to the Terms of Use.
2. Purpose of the Website. Campaign for America’s Future is a nonpartisan organization, with a mission to forge the enduring progressive majority needed to realize the America of shared prosperity and equal opportunity that our country was meant to be.
The purpose of the website is to assist in the above mission by promoting the work of Campaign for America’s Future, leading discussion about news and proposed policies, and providing an online community for progressives to share ideas. The purpose of the website is not to advance the interests of any particular party or candidate for office.
3. Submissions. Campaign for America’s Future welcomes you to share your ideas, comments, written and multimedia content, and other information (collectively, "Submissions") through the various tools offered on our website subject to your agreement to comply with the Terms of Use. Submissions are shared for public viewing and use on the site, and do not include personal contact information you submit in order to join an e-mail list, information provided in making a financial contribution, or information solely as part of the process of contacting decision-makers or signing a petition on this site. Please be aware that by making Submissions through our website, you agree to give Campaign for America’s Future certain rights in those materials.
By posting Submissions — you grant to Campaign for America’s Future and its designees a worldwide, non-exclusive, sublicenseable, assignable, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right (including any moral rights) and license to use, reproduce, distribute, create derivative works based on, perform and display such Submissions (in whole or in part) in any media now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose whatsoever, without compensation to you or any other provider of the Submissions. You also permit any visitor to the site to access, display, view, store and reproduce such Submissions for personal use.
You acknowledge that to the extent that you include personally identifiable information in Submissions, Campaign for America’s Future may republish such information as part of the content. If Campaign for America’s Future republishes your content, Campaign for America’s Future may provide authorship credit by listing your name as well.
Although Campaign for America’s Future has no obligation to monitor the Submissions, you acknowledge and agree that Campaign for America’s Future may do one or all of the following: (a) monitor the Submissions; (b) alter, edit, or remove any Submission; or (c) disclose any Submissions. This section will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms of Use.
4. Community Rules. Our website uses " Community Rules" set forth below to create a forum where information and progressive views can be shared in a productive way. While using the site, you agree to adhere to the Community Rules below.
You agree to:
* Respect others - by not threatening, insulting, abusing, intimidating or harassing other users.
* Use the site to participate in the site’s mission, not to promote yourself or your organization. Posting Submissions solely to promote your own projects is not allowed.
You agree not to:
* Post any Submissions or provide links to any Submissions that endorse or oppose a particular political party or candidate for office.
* Post any private information or otherwise harvest, collect or disclose information, about another site user without his or her express consent.
* Post any content to the site that is unlawful, racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful, or libelous, defamatory, obscene, or harassing.
* Post any content to the site that infringes any third party's intellectual property or other rights.
* Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or transmit or otherwise make available in connection with the site any material that would give rise to criminal or civil liability.
* Use the site for advertisements, chain letters, "spamming," survey solicitations, junk mail or solicitations.
* Impersonate any person or entity, including any Campaign for America’s Future employees, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
* Imply that Campaign for America’s Future endorses any of your statements or positions.
* Transmit any harmful, invasive or disruptive code or other materials (such as viruses, worms or web bugs) through or to the site, or otherwise "hack" or deface any portion of the site.
* Frame or mirror any part of the site without prior written authorization from Campaign for America’s Future.
You acknowledge that Campaign for America’s Future has the right, but not the obligation, to modify or remove, any Submissions that violate the Community Rules or that otherwise violate the Terms of Use.
5. Proprietary Rights, Re-Use Policy and Limits on Use. You acknowledge and agree that the information and materials presented on or through the site will remain the property of Campaign for America’s Future and its licensors or providers, and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, and/or other proprietary rights and related laws, rules and regulations. All articles and other text content have a “byline” indicating the author of that article or other content element. Any such text content authored by Campaign for America’s Future, Institute for America’s Future, or any staff member of either organization, may be freely reproduced, copied, and distributed solely for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given and, if the use is online, a line back to the IAF or CAF web site provided. All other text content remains the property of its author and may only be reproduced with permission.
Video and audio content labeled “produced by” CAF or IAF may be reproduced if used in its entirety solely for noncommercial purposes, with appropriate credit given to IAF or CAF and, if the use is online, a line back to the CAF or IAF web site provided. No derivative works may be created, and no component elements of audio or video site content may be extracted and used outside the work as a whole. All other audio or video content remains the property of its author and may only be reproduced with permission.
Photos, graphics and other images, and any other content not addressed above may be reproduced only with permission.
“Appropriate credit” means that you attribute the materials to CAF or IAF, credit a specific author when one is identified, and provide a link to either the CAF home page or the IAF home page or the specific URL where the material originated.
You may not make any editorial changes to articles or materials without first receiving express permission from Campaign for America’s Future. This provision does not restrict excerpting portions of content in a manner that does not alter the editorial intent.
The trademarks, service marks, logos and trade names displayed on the site (collectively the "Marks") are the registered and unregistered trademarks of Campaign for America’s Future, its licensors and suppliers, and others. All Marks on the site not owned by Campaign for America’s Future are the property of their respective owners. The Marks owned by Campaign for America’s Future, whether registered or unregistered, may not be used in connection with any product or service from any other organization or individual.
6. Information Provided By Third Parties. Some information made available on or through the site is provided by third parties, such as news services or other site users. The inclusion or appearance of any third-party content on the site does not indicate any approval or endorsement by Campaign for America’s Future. Campaign for America’s Future is not responsible for, and hereby disclaims any and all liability that may arise from Third-Party Content.
7. Links. The site provides links to other websites and resources. Because Campaign for America’s Future has no control over these sites and resources, you acknowledge and agree that Campaign for America’s Future does not endorse and is not responsible or liable for any content, advertising, products, or other materials on or available from such sites or resources. Campaign for America’s Future is providing these links to you only as a convenience. Campaign for America’s Future has the right, but not the obligation to block links from or to the site at any time.
8. Claims of Copyright Infringement. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (the "DMCA") provides recourse for copyright owners who believe that material appearing on the Internet infringes their rights under U.S. copyright law. If you believe in good faith that materials hosted by Campaign for America’s Future infringe your copyright, you (or your agent) may send us a notice requesting that the material be removed, or access to it blocked. Notices must include:
- The name, address, and electronic signature of the complaining party
- The infringing materials and their Internet location
- Sufficient information to identify the copyrighted works.
- A statement by the owner that it has a good faith belief that there is no legal basis for the use of the materials complained of.
- A statement of the accuracy of the notice and, under penalty of perjury, that the complaining party is authorized to act on the behalf of the owner.

10. Jurisdictional Issues. The site is controlled and operated by Campaign for America’s Future from its principal office in the District of Columbia, U.S.A., and is not intended to subject Campaign for America’s Future to the laws or jurisdiction of any other state, country or territory. By using this site, you agree to waive any legal claim or cause of action based upon the laws of any jurisdiction other than the District of Columbia and the United States, and you agree that any dispute arising out of your use of this site or otherwise related to the site will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in the District of Columbia and in no other jurisdiction. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of any court located in the District of Columbia, United States of America, and waive any jurisdictional, venue or inconvenient forum objections to such courts, in any matter arising out of or related to the site or these Terms of Use. Those who choose to access the site do so on their own initiative and at their own risk, and are solely responsible for complying with all local laws, rules and regulations.
11. Termination. You agree that Campaign for America’s Future, in its sole discretion, may terminate your use of the site or any part thereof, at any time and for any reason, including if Campaign for America’s Future believes that you have violated or acted inconsistently with the spirit of the Terms of Use. Further, you agree that Campaign for America’s Future will not be liable to you or any third party for any termination of your access to the site.
12. Disclaimers. THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. YOU AGREE THAT YOU MUST EVALUATE AND BEAR ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THE SITE, AND ANY RELIANCE ON THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS THEREOF. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, CAF DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE SITE.
The site may include inadvertent inaccuracies or errors, or information or materials that violate the Terms of Use. Additionally, the possibility exists that a third party could make unauthorized alterations to the site. Although we attempt to ensure the integrity of the site, we make no guarantees as to its completeness or correctness. In the event that a situation arises in which the site completeness or correctness is in question, please contact us with, if possible, a description of the material to be checked and the location (URL) where such material can be found on the site, as well as information sufficient to enable us to contact you.

NEITHER CAMPAIGN FOR AMERICA’S FUTURE NOR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES OR CONSULTANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE OR OTHER DAMAGES UNDER ANY CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY OR OTHER THEORY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE SITE AND/OR MATERIALS CONTAINED ON THE SITE, ANY LINKED SITE OR ANY CONTENT OR SERVICE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SITE. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SITE, CONTENT, SERVICES OR ANY LINKED SITE IS TO STOP YOUR USE OF IT.
14. Indemnification. You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Campaign for America’s Future and our directors, officers, employees and consultants, from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) and other expenses that arise out of or from (a) your activities in connection with the site; (b) any violation of these Terms of Use by you; or (c) any allegation that any Submissions or other materials you submit to us or transmit to the site infringe or otherwise violate the copyright, trademark, trade secret or other intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
15. Miscellaneous. These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles. If any provision of these Terms of Use is found to be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that provision will be deemed severable from these Terms of Use and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions. Campaign for America’s Future may assign its rights and obligations under these Terms of Use. These Terms of Use, together with all policies referred to herein, are the entire agreement between us relating to the subject matter herein and supersedes any and all prior or contemporaneous written or oral agreements between us with respect to such subject matter.
