Important for employees to have the freedom to choose to form a union

Fully three-quarters (77 percent) say that it is important to have strong laws that give employees the freedom to make their own choice about whether to have a union, without interference from management.

Unions appear in the Pew research as a natural counterweight to big business. Contrary to the opinions of those who contend that unions drive labor costs up and make U.S. industry uncompetitive, unions appear virtually blameless (6%) in the Pew survey of who’s to blame.
