In Argentina science has proven this wrong, and a tragedy has occurred. This is especially important because of the USDA's approval of GM Roundup Ready (RR) Alfalfa for unregulated introduction to the US food chain.

The introduction of RR soy and subsequent crop spraying in Argentina has resulted in "high rates of birth defects as well as infertility, stillbirths, miscarriages, and cancers [2]. Environmental effects include killed food crops and livestock and streams strewn with dead fish"

I disagree.

Were he illegally thrown out of his home by a ruthless immoral bank and communicating this wisdom while living under a plastic sheet in America's growing third world style shanty towns he and people like him might have a shred of credibility.

nytimes.com — This is the key battle in Afghanistan, not the firefights the IED's the theatres of operation, the drones and the ever lengthening files of the dead on their way to the afterlife. It is against corruption. The blood and treasure of many nations soaking into this country's parched soil will be for nothing if the system of patronage and systemic graft are allowed to prosper at the expense of laws and democracy.

The ancient systems of Afghan government may not be able to change under the veneer of western culture and we should consider leaving them to their fate.
