Recent Ruling for Indiana
Recently the Supreme court ruled on an absurd case regarding voter fraud in Indiana. They now state that you must present proper government issued identification, at the voting polls.
However, it was noted there was not one instance of voter fraud in the entire state. So now the poor and elderly who may not have proper government ID will be denied their right to vote in Indiana.
It costs money to get on a bus and pay for the proper ID, especially if you are on a fixed income. However no provision was made for this. Even more ironic is a real issue of voter fraud regarding voting machines that do not have a paper trail to see if they are accurate. Now that would be something that makes sense to rule on. In the meantime the poor and elderly, who usually vote Democratic, will be denied their rights. I cannot but wonder how different this ruling may have been if the majority affected were Republicans.
