Thank the Lord for Sen. Max Baucus, the Senator from Montana - a state that is among the poorest in the nation. As "K Street's favorite Democrat," he is really doing a helluva job earning his stripes ignoring folks in his state and going to bat for Big Money. Here's what I'm talking about, from Roll Call:
"Senate Democrats grew increasingly isolated in their push for an expanded stimulus package Tuesday, even as they faced an internal revolt over a proposal by Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) to give tax rebates to millionaires and billionaires...Baucus’ proposal [would] nix income caps for getting tax rebates."
Really, what a great senator Baucus is. To have such courage to represent one of the poorest states in the nation, and use your power to go to bat for millionaires and billionaires. What an American hero.
