Spirit Of South Bend Indiana Uncut

There is something just so appealing and indomitable about a small band of brothers and sisters raising their voices and placards to protest against injustice in the snow and freezing weather. Just click on the photo to go to their page at www.usuncut.org.

For my own part I joined the UK Uncut protest around Colchester on a mild February Saturday. We had our own police escort, good humoured officers who saw the irony of policing a demo against tax dodgers knowing full well that if the corporate tax avoiders paid their share their would be no police cuts.

The highlights for me were staging a sit down protest in the lobby of the Nat West Bank then going out and getting support from the open minded British public passing by our pitch outside the Top Shop department store and of course the notorious Barclays tax dodging bank in the high street.

This was a first, but we are intelligent, we can learn.

We need more banners, we need more leaflets, we need more balloons, we need to make more noise and we know we have to get the word out next time. We have lots of time, we know the tax dodgers are going to be there stealing our future and that of our future generations.

We can learn.

Progress....
