All McCain needs to complete his dream smear team is to resurrect Lee Atwater, the GOP's "happy hatchet man." (Obviously, McCain would, if he could.) Except it was Atwater who, as he lay dying of a brain tumor, discovered what America needed most was what was missing in him, "a little heart, a lot of brotherhood" to cure "the spiritual vacuum at the heart of American society, the tumor of the soul." Bill Moyers had this video remembrance.
